The Brenner Base Tunnel through the Alps, destined to become the longest underground railway connection in the world at a planned length of 64 kilometers, is being excavated using tunnel boring machines, or TBMs made by Herrenknecht. The TBMs contain nearly every type of pump manufactured by Allweiler, a Circor brand;

  • Filter oil and cooling system pumps
  • Grout pumps for ring-gap mortar injection
  • Proportioning pumps with quench`
  • Water pumps

The very compact MA-C version

Allweiler will exhibit its redesigned vertical centrifugal pump solutions for ship engine rooms at SMM fair Hamburg, Germany. The innovative foot design reduces space requirements and improves operational safety.

The new compact MA-S and MA-C series are vertically installed centrifugal pumps with axial inlets and radial outlets. The S version was designed for simple and rapid assembly and disassembly of the insert unit with impeller. The C version offers the same reliability with a significantly shorter installation height, so it’s perfect for customers with severe space restrictions.

Centrifugal Pumps in the production of frozen bakery products

Tuesday, July 24th, 2018 von admin

Technical paper by Susanne Suttrop

Committed to their slogan – Coppenrath & Wiese – Where else can you get quality like this? –  the company has earned a reputation in the field of frozen desserts that has been solidly anchored in the consciousness of consumers for more than 40 years (Fig. 1). But a slogan alone is not enough to satisfy customers if not simultaneously associated with reliably high quality products. That is why the company insists not only on high quality, fresh ingredients and skilled, talented employees but advanced production processes as well.

With a daily production volume of 3.3 million rolls as well as more than 200,000 various tortes, failure of even one component can lead to significant financial losses. For this reason, the company’s expectations for high-quality production systems are just as high as the expectations of consumers for outstanding products.

Centrifugal pump with smaller footprint

Thursday, May 17th, 2018 von admin

A next-generation redesign of the Allmarine MA-S and MA-C series from Allweiler now provides more vertical installation options for centrifugal pumps with axial inlets in marine and general service applications.

The Allmarine MA-S with spacer coupling and the MA-C, a closed coupled version, not only consume a smaller footprint but also offer a special foot design to help assure stability of the pump in heavy seagoing conditions. A shorter, lighter design modifies the suction flange with integrated fixing holes for pedestal mounting of the foot to the ship foundation.

Hygienic pump for filtration systems with up to 80 bar

Thursday, May 3rd, 2018 von admin

Representing a specific evolution of Fristam FP centrifugal pumps, the FPH range combines all the construction benefits of the standard range, including open impellers and flow-optimised pumping channel, with the suitability for use under high system pressure and with high volumetric flows. What is more, FPH pumps transport media with a viscosity of up to 800 mPa s especially in membrane filtration systems.

Pumps for wet flue gas desulfurization

Tuesday, April 10th, 2018 von admin

A cement factory in Texas was among the first in the USA  to install wet flue gas scrubbers in order to reduce the sulfur dioxide emissions. This is a demanding application for pumps because the gypsum slurry that “scrubs” the gas is highly abrasive and corrosive.

Special pumps with housings and impellers made of mineral cast prove to be a perfect solution here.

Wet Flue Gas Desulfurization Scrubber systems are a vital component in various industries due to strict environmental regulations. First applications were coal fired power plants and waste incineration plants. Today, other industries utilize wet scrubbers in their day to day operations as well to scrub flue gas emissions from burners that utilize coal as a fuel source.
