New series of Low Energy Air Diaphragm Pumps

Tapflo named its new pump series “TC Intelligent pumps”. The main step forward is the LEAP technology – ‘Low Energy Air Pump’. This is a patented technology used in AODD pumps to reduce the minimum operating air pressure by reducing internal losses and friction.

“LEAP uses an indirect system to detect the position of the diaphragm shaft controlling the diaphragm movement automatically”, explains Colin Wreyford Technical Director at Tapflo.

Sanitary AODD designed to meet exacting standards

12″, 10″ and 7″ H Series versions

Flotronic Pumps’ original 10” ‘H’ Series pump was designed to meet the exacting hygiene standards of 3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc (3-A SSI) and to be used in processes where hygiene is a priority. Since the launch of the 10” pump in 2015, the range has been expanded to encompass 7” and 12” versions, both of which are 3-A SSI accredited. Pipework connection sizes are now available from 1” – 3” allowing greater flexibility.

Rotary lobe pump combined with macerator enables collagen production

Fish is not just one of the staple foods in all the world’s coastal regions, its high-quality constituents – from omega 3 fatty acids to iodine – mean it is also becoming a significant component of a healthy diet worldwide. On the other hand, most of the residues are disposed of or processed into cheap animal feed, although the skins do for instance contain valuable proteins. In addition to fillet production, Vinh Hoan Corp., one of the largest pangasius exporters in Vietnam, has therefore built up its own production line for collagen powder. The powder is now used in food supplements, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. For this, Netzsch supplied a combination of a high-performance twin shaft macerator and a hygienic full-metal rotary lobe pump.

Netzsch at drinktec: New design of hygienic rotary lobe pump

The new design of the Tornado rotary lobe T.Sano has a completely smooth housing compared to the previous model, which attracts barely any dirt or dust. The range of the  rotary lobe pump T2 all-metal is interesting for food manufacturers due to its lack of dead space and also due to its oil-free design and operation. Almatec: Sanitary AODD pumps

The Biocor pumps have been specifically designed for critical sterile applications, and meet the strict standards, regulations and operational requirements that govern the food and beverage industry because they contain no horizontal areas. Available with a 316L polished stainless steel wetted path, these pumps provide superior containment and utilize ball-lifting magnets that can be attached to the pump housing from the outside at the location of the four ball valves. Flotronic: The One-Nut Design for hygienic AODD

UK specialist pump manufacturer Flotronic Pumps Limited was founded by Lew Norris in 1981. The engineering design consultancy ‘Norris Brothers’ had been involved in the design of  specialist pumps since 1952.  Lew Norris’ new company pioneered the air-operated, double-diaphragm ‘One-Nut’ pump. Flotronic’s ‘One-Nut’ design allows quick pump disassembly for inspection, cleaning and maintenance – delivering a massive benefit for pump users in terms of reduced down-time, particularly as the pump can be inspected or maintained in line without disconnection of pipework. Flotronic remains the only British-owned specialist manufacturer of air-operated, double-diaphragm pumps in the UK.

Wilden_FSIP_DiaphragmsThe new 76 mm (3”) Full-Stroke Integral Piston Diaphragm (FSIPD) is made for use in Wilden’s Saniflo FDA pumps, as well as its Original, Advanced and Advanced FIT series of air-operated double-diaphragm (AODD) pumps. These diaphragms are well suited for hygienic applications because they are constructed of food-grade Santoprene™, and the integral piston is completely encapsulated within the TPE material, meaning there is no outer piston that can trap fluid and particles.

The result is a durable, highly cleanable diaphragm assembly that features a large integral piston and a full-stroke shaft that enables it to maintain the same stroke length as conventional Wilden diaphragms. The diaphragm’s full-stroke design increases product displacement per stroke, which translates into improved suction lift, greater flow rates and higher efficiencies than experienced when using pumps that operate with reduced stroke diaphragms.
