The new double mechanical seal in tandem arrangement is especially well suited to the particular requirements of dry-installed and wet-installed waste water pumps. During development of the 4STQ – a double mechanical seal module – KSB’s engineers strove to ensure that its installation and removal remained as straightforward as possible. Assembly fixtures and fastening bolts are not required, and the seal’s modular design minimises downtime during maintenance inspections as well as preventing faulty reassembly.
The new Synconta lifting station is a synthetic prefabricated sump, designed as a single or double pumping station for below-ground installation. It is developed for the automatic pumping of wastewater and sewage from areas below the backwash level in accordance with DIN EN 12050-1. The new Synconta has a stronger tank design than the previous range and it can be provided with an optional concrete cover for the load class D 400, which means that it can be driven over for example by a truck.
Synconta is designed for fitting with Sulzer pumps of the Piranha, AS, and MF ranges. The new lifting station replaces the existing Synconta 801, 901-902 range. A concrete cover is available for areas with either pedestrian or vehicular traffic. The tank can be fitted with a plastic lockable lid when installed in areas without any kind of traffic.
The new pump series is developed for the pumping and recirculation of activated sludge in wastewater treatment plants during the nitrification and denitrification process, as well as for the pumping of storm, surface, and river water. It complements the submersible recirculation pump series ABS RCP. These submersible pumps are optimized in low energy consumption to bring savings in total life-cycle costs and reduce the environmental footprint.
The newly developed free-flow impeller for waste water pumps will be the trade fair highlight showcased by KSB at this year’s Ifat in Munich. The F-max impeller now incorporates different distances between its blades, which are arranged in groups with two small and two large distances. Thanks to this asymmetrical blade arrangement, the F-max offers impressively wide free passages ensuring that even larger rigid solids pass easily and are reliably handled by the pump.
A further focus for KSB’s engineers when designing the blades was their ability to create a swirl in the hub area. This swirling effect shifts fibres away from the impeller hub and transports them to the outside.
Delivering superior safety, improved functionality and a self-standing design, the next generation Depa DH® line of aluminum air-operated double diaphragm pumps has been expanded to include the sizes DH50 and 80. With this addition, the advanced flanged range includes now five sizes that are certified to ATEX Zone 1. These pumps are used in the paint, petrochemical and waste water industries, and are available with a comprehensive selection of options and accessories.
The Sulzer product portfolio for the water and wastewater business consists of
- submersible sewage pumps,
- submersible mixers and flow boosters,
- turbocompressors as well as
- pump control systems.
The KSB Group has supplied 70 pumps and around 700 butterfly valves to the new cruise ship Europa 2 run by Hamburg-based cruise ship organiser, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. The pumps’ spectrum of applications is varied and ranges from cooling the drives in the submerged pods to transporting seawater in ballast systems, supplying fire-fighting systems and handling fresh water, service water, waste water and sewage.
