Up to 33,000 m³/h

Friday, March 23rd, 2018 von admin

In response to the worldwide increase in large waste water projects, KSB has extended its range of large dry-installed waste water pumps. The pump manufacturer has developed an extra 15 sizes to add to its Sewatec pump series.

The maximum flow rate of the largest version will be up to 33,000 m³/h with a drive rating exceeding one megawatt.

An example of these pump sets will be showcased at the pump manufacturer’s trade fair stand at this year’s Ifat in Munich.

Innovations for wastewater pumping

At the previous Ifat, Swiss company Egger presented a further development of their completely retracted Turo centrifugal impeller TA for raw sewage conveyance. To date, a large number of pumping stations that are burdened with high solid loads (such as fibrous materials, wet wipes, etc.) have been successfully equipped with them. Blockages could be eliminated or – under extreme load – reduced to a minimum.

At Ifat 2018, the company is now presenting a low-clog and 100% dry-running-safe centrifugal pump hydraulic system. A further development of the Eurodyn hydrodynamic shaft seal in conjunction with Turo Vortex hydraulics makes absolutely dry-run safe use possible. The pump hydraulics and shaft seal operate completely contact-free. In the case of wastewater pumping operations that comply with the regulations, the pump set as designed by Egger enables 4-years of maintenance-free operation.

Pump acceptance testing – now online

Wednesday, February 21st, 2018 von admin

At this year’s Ifat trade fair (14 to 18 May 2018) the KSB Group is introducing a trade fair novelty to its visitors: the newly created online pump acceptance testing. When purchasing large pumps, hydraulic acceptance tests and a final inspection are an essential proof of compliance with the guaranteed values. In the past, customers always had to travel to the test facility to witness their purchased pump being tested.

As testing usually takes place at the manufacturing plant, this is a time-consuming and costly trip, especially for international projects or those that are far away. Online acceptance testing is KSB’s answer, developed as a process enabling reliable and standard-compliant pump acceptance testing. The tests conducted are transmitted live via a specially protected part of the Internet. In an online meeting between pump manufacturer and customer, the customer can see the live camera view of the pump in the test facility as well as the characteristic curve measurement during testing.

Self-cleaning tank inserts for waste water tanks

Thursday, February 8th, 2018 von admin

At this year’s Ifat trade fair in Munich, KSB is presenting its ready-to-install self-cleaning Amaclean tank insert. Amaclean decreases the amount of stagnant water in the pump sump and reduces the need for maintenance and cleaning.

In combination with select impeller types featuring in the waste water pumps used, this tank insert eliminates the need for flushing valves. Amaclean’s patented design and gel-coated inner surface prevent waste and fibres contained in the waste water from depositing in and at the lower parts of the structure.
