Almatec: High-Pressure Pump Series

Almatec-AHD_AHS SeriesThis new high-pressure pump series AHD/AHS are developed for applications up to 15 bar (218 psig) such as filter press applications.

The “D” in AHD stands for Duplex, which means the reinforcement of the drive pressure is more than 2:1 by the internal pressure boosting stage. This is achieved thanks to a maximum drive pressure of 7 bar (100 psig), which allows the AHD to build up discharge pressures up to 15 bar (218 psig). AHD Series pumps are available in three sizes (AHD 15, 25 and 40) with maximum capacities of 4, 10 and 20 m3/h (17, 44 and 87 gpm).

The new AHS Series, which does not include an internal pressure booster, features an extremely rugged housing making it suitable for higher discharge pressures. The “S” in AHS stands from Simplex, meaning the drive pressure is transferred to the medium in a ration of 1:1.

  • water,
  • coolants,
  • condensate and
  • mineral oils.

They are ideal for industrial recirculation and fire-fighting systems, cooling water circuits and washing plants as well as for boosting pressure in general process applications, for example.

In the extraction of active and valuable substances, aromatic and flavouring substances, the food and pharmaceutical industry is forced to make high demands concerning quality and economy of the extraction process. The CO2-method is therefore preferably used in the extraction of primary vegetable products. The optimal sequence of the process depends on the quality and the controllability of process data in the high pressure section. Efficient industrial utilization of this method requires high reliability and functionality of the most important technical system components. The pumps for increasing the pressure of the liquid CO2 therefore play a key role in the process, because these pumps can be reliably adapted to the CO2-conditions.
