Hermetically sealed Twin-Screw Pump for chemical and petrochemical sectors

Monday, June 18th, 2018 von admin

ITT Bornemann launched a new hermetically-sealed pump, named SLW, at Achema 2018 in Frankfurt, Germany. This pump serie uses a magnetic coupling for a hermetic pump drive. With the sealed fluid chamber, critical media with harmful substances are confined to the pump and not released into the environment.

  • The design allows the two screws to convey the product and transmit the torque.
  • The single-volute design is also compact and requires a small footprint for installation.
  • The product is lubricated with inboard bearings.
  • The less-wear parts design leads to low-maintenance, resulting in high MTBF.

Low flow with high head pump applications

Friday, May 18th, 2018 von admin

Side Channel Pumps are self-priming pumps that operate in low NPSH conditions & have the ability to handle up to 50% entrained gas. These pumps run at very low flow rates, while generating medium to high differential pressures.

Side Channel Pump specialist, Sero PumpSystems, will showcase these capabilities and the operation of multifunction pumps with their Mini Pump Lab (Fig.) at 2018 Achema  trade show in Frankfurt. Sero will demonstrate an affordable, easy and effective control of side channel pumps utilizing “Industrie 4.0”, as well as duty point monitoring within the pump’s performance range.

Hermetic: 1 meter shaft = 15 meters immersion depth

Thursday, January 26th, 2017 von admin

As a replacement to conventional submersible pumps, the manufacturer Hermetic supplied two 8-stage, sealless canned motor pumps. The distinctive feature of the transformation was the customized adaptation of the pumps to the existing plant and its vessels. The pumps were designed for easy installation in the existing tank (with a diameter of 500 mm). The customer, a Swiss fine chemicals manufacturer, thus saves the costly, time-consuming conversion of the existing systems in its production plant.

Quattroflow: Hygienic pump for accurate flow and wide flow range

Friday, September 16th, 2016 von admin

quattrotecThe target application for this positive displacement quaternary diaphragm pump series is the continuous dosing of high-value additives in the food and beverage and personal care industries (e.g. to add concentrates to a fluid stream for soft drinks) as well as for in-line dilution. These ‘QuattroTec’ called pumps can provide a consistent flow that results in a constant and continuous dosing of ingredients in hygienic processes.

Hermetic: 12-stage canned motor pumps for ethane cracker plant

Monday, June 6th, 2016 von admin

IMG_1941The actually supplied two canned motor pumps, with “tandem” design, convey the medium [C3 fraction with propylene as main constituent] at a temperature of 22 °C. The differential head [H] is 379 m at a flow rate [Q] of 7.8 m³/h. The pump units are designed for a nominal pressure of 40 bar and have temperature- and level-monitoring features. For online monitoring of the hydraulic axial bearing, a rotor-position monitoring feature is also provided.

The special tandem design of the multistage pumps results in minimal shaft deflection and load relief at the slide bearings. The “ZART” (Zero Axial and Radial Thrust) technology ensures a contact- and wear-free running of the rotor unit.

CP: New magnetic drive centrifugal pump up to 750 m³/h

Tuesday, October 13th, 2015 von admin

cpThe Swiss pump manufacturer CP Pumpen AG has put a new pump size on the market. The new magnetic drive pump, MKP 250-200-315, enhances the MKP series. These pumps are – according a company’s information – “considered high-performance, energy-efficient, sturdy and very safe – regardless of which medium is pumped. CP’s development team was able to implement all of these product properties in the new MKP 250-200-315.”

“The demand for pumps with a large flow volume had increased in the past. With a volume of up to 750 m3/h, the new MKP is complementing our series with a size that is important for the market”, says Heinz Mathys, Marketing & Sales Director and member of the CP Management Team.

i-CAN PumpThe seal-less and gland-less mono-block design of the pump enables it to cater to industries like

  • ice-making plants,
  • cold storages,
  • air-conditioning plants,
  • dairies and
  • some small scale industries involved in refrigeration-related businesses.

The pump’s compact, lightweight yet sturdy design with less number of components helps it to minimize assembly and dismantling time and occupy less space. The pump named i-Can is hailed as a step-up from the conventional mechanical seal pump category which requires heavy maintenance.

Lewa: Hermetically tight 170 °C high-temperature pumps for production

Wednesday, December 17th, 2014 von admin

Wacker_freiIn the existing chemical installation in a Wacker Chemie plant, the safety-related design of the relevant pump systems had to be thoroughly renovated. One of the basic requirements for the redesign was that diaphragm pumps themselves had to remain absolutely hermetically tight, even at high working temperatures of +170 °C during normal operations and brief peaks as high as +200 °C. As a result, Lewa developed an individual solution to meet the specific customer requirements.

“As an additional security measure, the pressure-free hydraulic reservoir behind the diaphragm is blanketed with nitrogen as a protective gas”, explains Lewa project lead Rainer Sonnenfroh.
