Extensive additions to Siemens pump converter

The Sinamics G120 is the universal drive to address the widest range of application requirements such as pump drives. Siemens is extending its portfolio of Sinamics G120 converters to include a new frame size, the FSG with voltage ranges from 380 to 480 volts (V) and from 500 to 690 V.
This addition means that the innovative PM240-2 Power Modules now cover the entire power range up to 250 kilowatts (kW). The extremely compact design and standard integrated optional features such as integrated DC link reactor or integrated filter to achieve category C2, enable substantial space and cost savings in the control cabinet.

Siemens: I/O extension module for converters

For the smallest converter in its portfolio, the Sinamics V20, Siemens is now offering an extension module for the capture and output of digital and analog signals. The Sinamics V20 I/O extension module is mounted on the converter using Plug&Play technology, and provides two additional input and output interfaces, each for 400 volts., increasing both the flexibility and the scope of the Sinamics V20. Using connecting ports on the front and back, the extension module can also be combined with additional accessories from the Sinamics V20 portfolio. These include for instance the BOP (Basic Operator Panel) and the BOP interface module.

KSB: New variable speed system for HVAC applications

Etaline pump with PumpDrive Eco

This year’s ISH trade fair in Frankfurt will see KSB present a new 230 V version of its motor-mounted PumpDrive Eco variable speed system. Available for motor ratings ranging from 0.12 to 1.1 kW, this new version has been specially tailored to the requirements of HVAC applications.

PumpDrive Eco features sensorless differential pressure control which comes preset for use with Etaline L. All key parameters relating to pump and motor data are also set at the factory. This reduces the time required for pump set commissioning.

Alongside wireless Bluetooth modules for permanent installation supplied optionally, Bluetooth couplers are now also available. These can be plugged onto the service interface of PumpDrive Eco from the outside. This arrangement improves usability by also allowing communication with systems that do not have their own BT interface. The myPumpDrive app enables users to communicate with the system and make settings via smartphone.

WEG: New frequency inverter for decentralised motor and wall installation

WEG2110_Bild1The MW500 frequency inverter with decentralised design has been developed for space-saving solutions, such as directly motor mounted or adjacent to the motor on the wall. As a result, the need for lengthy cables and switch cabinets is eliminated. MW500 is robust with an IP66 protection rating. It can withstand high overloading of 150% for 60 seconds every 10 minutes, and operate in temperatures up to 40°C (wall installation) and 50°C (motor installation). With increased ruggedness compared to alternative technologies, it provides reliable operation over a long service life. The inverter is designed to operate asynchronous motors in the power range 0.75 to 7.5 kW, and is offered as three variants for a mains voltage of 380 to 400V (A: 1.1 to 1.5 kW, B: 2.2 – 4 kW and C: 5.5 – 7.5 kW), and for 200 to 240V, as variant A (0.75 to 1.1 kW). It is ideal for many pump applications.

Mitsubishi: IP55 variant added to inverter series

Specially designed for harsh environments and tailored to the requirements of pumps, the drives are highly robust and ideally suited for use in industrial and commercial building automation systems as well as in heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems.  The new FR-A846 series with an IP55 protection rating represents Mitsubishi Electric’s latest drive technology in the output range from 400 watts up to 160 kW. The drive’s EMC filter built in as standard ensures full compliance with the EMC Directive (EN 61800-3, 1st environment, category C2) while its DC reactor – also built in as standard – ensures full compliance with IEC 61000-3-12 for reducing and limiting harmonic currents so that separate certification is not required. The FR-A846 also has a built-in main switch version with locking option.

The ACS580 is ABB’s all-compatible general purpose drive. Through drive selection, set up, operation and maintenance, the ACS580 turns complicated to simple to control processes efficiently. The ACS580 power range is 0.75 to 250 kW and voltage range is 208 to 480 V.

The wall-mounted drive is available with IP21 enclosure and from now on the drives with IP55 enclosure for harsh environments are available as well.
