Packo: Reduced production losses thanks to damage free product handling

Monday, January 25th, 2016 von admin

VPCP-doorsnedeThe full geometry of both the impeller and the pump casing was studied via CFD and redesigned with a view to the largest possible free passage and minimal product damage in the widest possible working area. The result of months of CFD study and several practice tests is a range of four pump types with a significantly larger pump casing but with the same mounting dimensions as the VDKM pumps (except for type 150-400).

The principle remains a complete stainless steel pump, like the Packo standard dictates. Cleanability, corrosion resistance and more strict hygiene requirements, after all, are gaining importance.

The pump will be on show at Fruitlogistica, Berlin 3. – 5. January 2016 7.1b/A-02

Grundfos: Oils and fats challenge pump technology

Friday, August 7th, 2015 von admin

grundfos pressebild NB NKNew end-suction pumps according to chemical standard DIN EN 22858 for chocolate, biscuits, ice cream, baby food.

Vegetable oils and fats determine the texture, the look, the smell and the taste of many foods. They also protect the skin as cosmetics and transport the healing power of drugs in ointments and essences. Also in technology, oils and fats from oilseeds – rapeseed, soya beans and sunflower seeds play an important role. They can be processed among other things for pollution-free coolants for use in metalworking and for biodegradable lubricants and hydraulic oils. The oils and fats processing industry is continually looking for more efficient processes, quality and cost reasons. Maximum oil yield, minimum oil losses and energy savings are the relevant outcomes. Health aspects come into play: Only precise and sensitive processing (refining, hydrogenation) ensures that no unwanted reaction products occur.

Pumps are needed in all process steps of the refining of vegetable oils and vegetable fats

Alfa Laval: Selecting the right pump for each application

Thursday, November 21st, 2013 von admin

Pumps account for a staggering 10% of global electricity consumption – and as much as half of the total electricity consumption in some applications. Selecting the right pump for each application is the key to significant savings. Energy use can vary enormously between pumps in different processes, so comparing performance and energy consumption in each application is critical. Se some examples in this video
