BBA: Emergency pump units for nuclear power plant

Fire Fighting Pump Unit (2)Following the Fukushima nuclear disaster in 2011, safety regulations at many nuclear plants have been considerably tightened, this has led to an increased demand for fire fighting pump systems. These systems must comply with extremely strict requirements and regulations. Working closely together with the Belgian distributor Rental Pumps, BBA Pumps has recently completed one of the most demanding projects in its history – the delivery of nine mobile disaster relief pumping systems. These pumps are supplied to provide an extra level of safety in a large nuclear power plant.

KSB: Cruise ship ‘Europa 2’ equipped

KSB_Pumpe_Europa2The KSB Group has supplied 70 pumps and around 700 butterfly valves to the new cruise ship Europa 2 run by Hamburg-based cruise ship organiser, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. The pumps’ spectrum of applications is varied and ranges from cooling the drives in the submerged pods to transporting seawater in ballast systems, supplying fire-fighting systems and handling fresh water, service water, waste water and sewage.
