The very compact MA-C version

Allweiler will exhibit its redesigned vertical centrifugal pump solutions for ship engine rooms at SMM fair Hamburg, Germany. The innovative foot design reduces space requirements and improves operational safety.

The new compact MA-S and MA-C series are vertically installed centrifugal pumps with axial inlets and radial outlets. The S version was designed for simple and rapid assembly and disassembly of the insert unit with impeller. The C version offers the same reliability with a significantly shorter installation height, so it’s perfect for customers with severe space restrictions.

Impeller improves suction characteristics in high-pressure pumps

Tuesday, July 24th, 2018 von admin

KSB experts developed a special impeller for its Movitec multistage high-pressure pumps. This new impeller significantly improves these pumps’ suction characteristics (NPSH value).

It proves its worth particularly in applications with critical inlet conditions (e.g. boiler feed applications) as well as applications in which the pump is required to take in water from low-lying tanks or at higher temperatures. Under these conditions, a pressure drop in the intake area may cause cavitation to occur in the first pump stage. This can result in excessive wear of pump parts or motor bearings as well as a reduced service life of the pump due to damaged parts and an unbalanced hydraulic system.

The new impeller is offered as an alternative to the standard product.

Reich: Flexible couplings for Diesel driven fire pumps

Thursday, July 30th, 2015 von admin

reichkleinThe highly flexible VSK coupling is an integral component for connecting the combustion engine to the right-angle gear drive of the fire pump system. By using the VSK highly flexible coupling, the drive train can be protected from dynamic overload, reduce resonance-induced vibratory torques and provide a convenient connection between the combustion engine and drive shaft.

BBA: Emergency pump units for nuclear power plant

Monday, March 2nd, 2015 von admin

Fire Fighting Pump Unit (2)Following the Fukushima nuclear disaster in 2011, safety regulations at many nuclear plants have been considerably tightened, this has led to an increased demand for fire fighting pump systems. These systems must comply with extremely strict requirements and regulations. Working closely together with the Belgian distributor Rental Pumps, BBA Pumps has recently completed one of the most demanding projects in its history – the delivery of nine mobile disaster relief pumping systems. These pumps are supplied to provide an extra level of safety in a large nuclear power plant.
