The KSB SuPremE motor made by the Frankenthal pump manufacturer KSB has been IE5 classified since January 2017. The motor meets the requirements of IE5 (IEC/TS 60034-30-2), the highest of energy efficiency classes for variable speed electric motors; compared with IE4, motor losses are reduced by a further 20 percent.
Unlike conventional synchronous motors this drive is made without any magnetic materials such as rare earths that are categorised as critical raw materials since their extraction causes severe environmental impacts in their countries of origin.
The high-efficiency circulator range Calio SI type series are intended for use in heating, air-conditioning and solar power systems where they facilitate automatic operation with constant-pressure or proportional-pressure control as well as operation with 0-10 V setpoint input or external control via PWM signal in accordance with VDMA-Einheitsblatt [Standard Sheet].
On the HMI, Dual and EcoMatch variants the user can select the required mode of operation via two pushbuttons on the control panel.
The new high-efficiency circulators of the Calio-Therm S NC series are maintenance-free glandless pumps designed for pumping drinking water in closed circuits, which are commonly found in single-family or two-family houses as well as in larger building projects.
Like the other Calio pumps the new circulators offer a high-efficiency permanent magnet motor to achieve top efficiencies. With one-touch operation the flow rate can be adjusted via three speed levels. In the event of a blocked rotor the motor stops automatically, and a fault is indicated. Three LEDs display the operating status. The screwed connections are available in dimension Rp ½ internal thread (EN 10266) or G 1 ¼ external thread (DIN ISO 228). The maximum flow rate equals 0.7 m³/h. The pump’s maximum head is 1.0 m. The drinking water temperature should measure between +5 °C and +65 °C.

The KSB Sonolyzer app is based on an algorithm that has been integrated in PumpMeter units for five years now, of which well over 30,000 have already been sold.
The smartphone-based application does not require knowledge of the individual characteristic curve or any additional technical data of the pump set to be measured, however, and can also be used with pumps from other manufacturers. Users can utilise the app to determine the load at which each centrifugal pump driven by a fixed-speed asynchronous motor is being operated. The following data must be entered for this purpose: the motor rating, the rated motor speed, the head and the flow rate of the pump. This information can be read from the name plate affixed to every pump.
Hapag Lloyd will equip ships of the 13,200-TEU Hamburg Express class and other vessels with the CM-1000® pump control system. The CM-1000 system controls the flow rates of seawater cooling pumps based on the temperature of the fresh water and the current need for coolant. As a result, the amount of seawater pumped into the seawater cooler matches requirements, saving electrical power on board the ship.
Allweiler pumps will meet the Ecodesign Directive ErP 2005/32/EC energy efficiency directive beginning January 1, 2015 – two years ahead of required compliance.
The MW500 frequency inverter with decentralised design has been developed for space-saving solutions, such as directly motor mounted or adjacent to the motor on the wall. As a result, the need for lengthy cables and switch cabinets is eliminated. MW500 is robust with an IP66 protection rating. It can withstand high overloading of 150% for 60 seconds every 10 minutes, and operate in temperatures up to 40°C (wall installation) and 50°C (motor installation). With increased ruggedness compared to alternative technologies, it provides reliable operation over a long service life. The inverter is designed to operate asynchronous motors in the power range 0.75 to 7.5 kW, and is offered as three variants for a mains voltage of 380 to 400V (A: 1.1 to 1.5 kW, B: 2.2 – 4 kW and C: 5.5 – 7.5 kW), and for 200 to 240V, as variant A (0.75 to 1.1 kW). It is ideal for many pump applications.
