Sulzer: Centrifugal Pump Package to Fibria Celulose in Brazil

Ahlstar_Process_PumpSulzer has been awarded a frame contract for process and medium consistency pumps to the Horizonte 2 project by Fibria Celulose SA, a Brazilian forestry company and the world’s leading eucalyptus pulp producer. Fibria’s new production line will be built in the Três Lagoas Unit in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul and it is scheduled for startup in late 2017.

Fibria’s new production line with an annual capacity of 1.75 million tons will increase the capacity of Fibria’s existing Três Lagoas mill to 3.05 million tons of pulp per year. Sulzer supplies the manufacturing, testing, packaging, and installation supervision of the centrifugal pumps. The pump package contains highly efficient

KBL: New process pump

The GK-P PumpKirloskar Brothers Ltd (KBL) launched the technologically advanced GK-P pump series. GK-P is a process pump used for handling various types of chemical liquids from various process industries. It is an end suction centrifugal process pump having discharge capacity upto 500 m³/h at 1450 rpm. With a size ranging between 25 mm to 150 mm, the pump can handle temperatures in the range of -50 ⁰C upto +350 ⁰C. The wide range of smooth hydraulics will meet the customers’ requirements and promote better efficiency of the product. The back pullout design will help in easy and quicker maintenance.

KSB: Motor-mounted speed control system for centrifugal pumps

KSB_PumpDrive_EcoThe latest version of the “motor-mounted” speed control system for centrifugal pumps was designed specifically to cater to heating and air-conditioning applications. The system makes it possible to reduce energy costs by matching pump output to actual demand. The parameters of PumpDrive Eco are set at the factory based on the specific pump and motor data. This reduces the time required for commissioning the unit.

Russian Award for Hermetic

IMG_0891_rgb-348x350Hermetic-Pumpen GmbH, located in the German Black Forest town of Gundelfingen near Freiburg, was recognised with the “Russian oil and gas industries’ best centrifugal-pump manufacturer for 2013” award during the NefteGasPererabotka conference for Russian refineries. The award was presented recently in Moscow and is the result of an independent survey involving 60 Russian refineries.

Andritz: Submersible motor pumps for offshore drilling platforms in China

andritzInternational technology Group Andritz received an order from the two Chinese shipyards Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, Shanghai, and China Merchants Heavy Industry, Shenzhen, to supply a total of twelve submersible motor pumps for use on jack-up rigs. Start-up is scheduled for the first half of 2014.

One of the largest chemical complexes in the world is currently being developed at Jubail Industrial City II in Saudi Arabia as a joint venture between Dow and Saudi Aramco. Once complete, an annual output of more than three million tonnes of chemical products and plastics from Sadara Chemical Company (Sadara) is anticipated.  Up to February 2014, Friatec AG – Division Rheinhütte Pumpen (based in Wiesbaden, Germany) will supply a total of 63 pumps of various types, which will mainly be used for the production of basic chemicals.

ASV Stübbe Intensifies Focus on Booming Non-European Markets

asv 1One of Europe’s most modern pump test bay can now be found in the German city of Vlotho. With an investment of more than two million Euros, ASV Stübbe GmbH & Co. KG built a test bay for newly developed plastic pumps, which shatters all previous dimensions: now, vertical as well as horizontal centrifugal pumps with power ranges of up to 350 kW and a flow rate of up to 1,200 m³/h can be tested virtually fully automatically. “With this new test bay”, explains ASV Stübbe Managing Director Klaus Warnecke, “we are optimally equipped for further growth.” This being one of the largest investments in the company’s history, ASV Stübbe is focussing particularly on the growing markets in Eastern Europe, China and South America.

The manufacturer of centrifugal pumps has announced the opening of their new 7,500 m² plant in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which includes 671 m² of office space, a Test Lab (up to 6,000 HP), and a Service Center. With the recent opening of this facility in Rio de Janeiro, Ruhrpumpen now has eight plants strategically situated on four continents. Furthermore, the company has a wide network of Service Centers with plans for a new center in Antofagasta, Chile.

This single stage centrifugal pump Saturn is made of FRP (thermosetting resins reinforced with fiberglass), which provide the casing with a considerable mechanical resistance comparable to metal alloy. The resin basic formula (epoxy vinyl ester) gives to the pump casing a resistance to all corrosive and abrasive acids.
