The target application for this positive displacement quaternary diaphragm pump series is the continuous dosing of high-value additives in the food and beverage and personal care industries (e.g. to add concentrates to a fluid stream for soft drinks) as well as for in-line dilution. These ‘QuattroTec’ called pumps can provide a consistent flow that results in a constant and continuous dosing of ingredients in hygienic processes.

The new CombiTherm Plus pump provides transfer of hot fluids without the need for additional, external cooling systems. The pump is available in two configurations suitable for the pumping of hot oil or hot water and provides an highly efficient and pumping solution. The air-cooled CombiTherm Plus pump provides transfer of hot oil or hot water in a wide range of applications including
- injection molding,
- chemical processing,
- asphalt / bitumen and tar processing,
- deep frying systems,
- steam generators,
- fuel heaters and
- heat recovery systems.
The pump keeps fluid temperatures uniform to ensure processes are efficient while its design protects seal faces and bearings from the heat of the fluid; ensuring durable, low maintenance, long life operation.
The actually supplied two canned motor pumps, with “tandem” design, convey the medium [C3 fraction with propylene as main constituent] at a temperature of 22 °C. The differential head [H] is 379 m at a flow rate [Q] of 7.8 m³/h. The pump units are designed for a nominal pressure of 40 bar and have temperature- and level-monitoring features. For online monitoring of the hydraulic axial bearing, a rotor-position monitoring feature is also provided.
The special tandem design of the multistage pumps results in minimal shaft deflection and load relief at the slide bearings. The “ZART” (Zero Axial and Radial Thrust) technology ensures a contact- and wear-free running of the rotor unit.
The pump casing of Fristam FDS pumps comes in three parts, consisting of an intermediate flange, the screw casing and the pump cover. This enables individual adaptation of the connections to any conceivable production system requirement. Thanks to central positioning of the gearwheels inside the bearing support area, the entire pump comes in a very compact design. Moreover, its massive shaft has reinforcements in the area of critical diameters to ensure maximum rigidity. Further stability is achieved through a combination of particular large bearings and an increased bearing distance. The result is smooth running with minimal wear.
The Sundyne LMV-803Lr is an API 610 compliant pump available in either OH3 or OH5 motor mounting configuration that provides ultra-low NPSHr performance – approximately 5 ft (1.5 m), across the entire performance range – for flows to 800 GPM (180 m³ / hr) and heads to 1,000 ft (305 m).
The ultra-low NPSHr allows the pump to be installed at grade level, eliminating the expense of installation in a pit and performing maintenance in a confined space. The vertical design is ideal for use in refineries, NGL, petrochemical and chemical plants, as well as handling light hydrocarbon handling services, such as bottom pumps for de-ethanizers.

The Swiss pump manufacturer CP Pumpen AG has put a new pump size on the market. The new magnetic drive pump, MKP 250-200-315, enhances the MKP series. These pumps are – according a company’s information – “considered high-performance, energy-efficient, sturdy and very safe – regardless of which medium is pumped. CP’s development team was able to implement all of these product properties in the new MKP 250-200-315.”

Kirloskar Brothers Ltd (KBL) launched the technologically advanced GK-P pump series. GK-P is a process pump used for handling various types of chemical liquids from various process industries. It is an end suction centrifugal process pump having discharge capacity upto 500 m³/h at 1450 rpm. With a size ranging between 25 mm to 150 mm, the pump can handle temperatures in the range of -50 ⁰C upto +350 ⁰C. The wide range of smooth hydraulics will meet the customers’ requirements and promote better efficiency of the product. The back pullout design will help in easy and quicker maintenance.
The G3M, a heavy-duty, medium-sized triplex drive unit, was originally developed to bring re-liquefied boil-off gases from LNG tankers to a high pressure level, rendering these gases usable for the ships’ propulsion system. As a rugged workhorse, it is also ideal for various other applications, including use in the chemical industry or for offshore applications on oil platforms. The Lewa Triplex G3M process diaphragm pump was one of the main exhibits of Lewa GmbH at Achema 2015.
The G3M is an intermediate size product in the Lewa portfolio that attains a maximum output of 200 kW thanks to its stroke length of 120 mm and a rod force of 125 kN. It is intended for use primarily in the oil and gas industry, as well as the chemical process industry. The chief application in the former sector is injecting monoethylene glycol and methanol. In the process industry, a wide variety of pumping tasks in pressure ranges between 40 and 750 bar can be managed. Other possible applications include handling highly flammable materials such as vinyl acetate, slurry in the wet oxidation or high-pressure metering of liquid ammonia.
