Mobile horizontal eccentric screw pumps

Thursday, October 18th, 2018 von admin

The B70H is a variation of the B70V by Lutz and is designed for the horizontal use on a trolley. It can be used in situations where the B70V comes across space limits or limits of handling and thus completes the range of eccentric screw pumps with a mobile version.

New plastic centrifugal pump for aggressive liquids containing solid particles

Thursday, October 4th, 2018 von admin

These mechanically sealed centrifugal pumps are made for liquids containing solid particles. Since there are no metal parts on the liquid side, the pumps are ideal for chemicals transfer and circulation in surface treatment industry. These Tapflo CTP pumps are available with BSP thread, flange or hose connections. The pumps can be used for chemically corrosive and toxic liquids as well as for clean and thin liquids like pure chemicals, acids and alkalis because the wetted components are non-metallic, injection molded thermoplastics enabling excellent corrosion resistance.

4 Reasons to choose AODD pumps for chemical processes

Thursday, September 20th, 2018 von admin

Technical paper by Erik Solfelt:

Thanks to its simple yet innovative design, the AODD pump has proven to be able to consistently meet the demands of chemical processors while building a reputation as a go-to pumping technology where basic fluid-transfer capabilities are required. The AODD pump, which possesses a stable of notable operational characteristics, has become a first-choice technology for chemical manufacturers who are searching for a pump that meshes cost-conscious air consumption with reliable and safe production rates.

12″, 10″ and 7″ H Series versions

Flotronic Pumps’ original 10” ‘H’ Series pump was designed to meet the exacting hygiene standards of 3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc (3-A SSI) and to be used in processes where hygiene is a priority. Since the launch of the 10” pump in 2015, the range has been expanded to encompass 7” and 12” versions, both of which are 3-A SSI accredited. Pipework connection sizes are now available from 1” – 3” allowing greater flexibility.

Compressed air motors for drum pumps

Monday, September 10th, 2018 von admin

Energy efficiency and reducing the operating costs is important as well for user of drum pumps. With the development of the new MDx compressed air motors, Lutz has taken account of this requirement.

With the oil-free, 1000 watts air motor you can achieve the same delivery capacity with 20 % less connection pressure and 4 % less air consumption comparable to other products. The motors have a good start-up behaviour also with low pressure.

Technical Paper: API 676 compliance of progressive cavity pumps

Friday, August 3rd, 2018 von admin

Owing to their operating principle and their roots in waste water treatment, Progressive Cavity Pumps (PCP) come with typical deviations against petrochemical standard API 676. Some of these deviations are inevitable, others can be healed. It is a preservative headache and topic of discussion for project engineers to understand and identify which of these deviations are relevant, critical or acceptable for their project.

Pumps used in mining for transporting packing material

Monday, July 23rd, 2018 von admin

Salinen Austria AG is one of Europe’s leading salt suppliers. The company’s most important products include brine for the chemical industry, food, industrial and melting salt, and chemically pure salt for pharmaceuticals. Three sites (Bad Ischl, Hallstatt, Altaussee) produce more than 3 million cubic meter of brine. Because of this, Austria is one of the most important salt producers in Europe. Salinen Austria AG contracted with Altmayer Anlagentechnik to construct a system that would be used to transfer tailing piles from the brine purification process used in the production of evaporated salt into the caverns. The tailing piles from the brine purification process are to be used to pack the salt cavities that have been created.

Elbow pump made from plastic

Monday, June 18th, 2018 von admin

The use of elbow pumps is always indicated when large flow rates are to be pumped to low heads. This requires a propeller-like impeller with both axial inlet and outlet, which guides the out warding flow into a pipe bend. This geometry then allows the introduction of a long projecting pump shaft in the pipe bend up to the impeller. The bearing of the pump shaft takes place outside the pumping chamber and must be generously dimensioned in the axial direction. The adjustment of the delivery head is usually done with a belt drive between the pump shaft and motor. The new ROPP model – showcased at Achema 2018 – of the Germany based pump manufacturer Wernert is also based on this classic pump concept, but with a few additional technical features that should be of interest to the experts and pump users in the chemical industries:
