KSB Supervisory Board appointed Chairman of Board of Management

Dr Stephan Timmermann (56) will become Chairman of the Board of Management of KSB Aktiengesellschaft (“Vorstandssprecher”) with effect from 13 November 2017. This decision was taken today by the Supervisory Board of the pump and valve manufacturer. Following the appointment of Stephan Timmermann, five members of the Board of Management will then be in charge of managing the company until the end of year.

As already reported, Dr Peter Buthmann (65) will leave the Board of Management as planned at the end of December 2017.

Indar: Large submersible motor pump sets for Las Vegas

Facing the worst drought on record in the Colorado River Basin, as lake levels continue to fall, the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) is building a low lake level pumping station to ensure Las Vegas and Southern Nevada maintains access to its primary water supplies in Lake Mead.

Lake Mead water levels have dropped more than 40 m (131 feet) since the drought began in 2000. The new pumping station will allow SNWA to pump water from Lake Mead from an elevation as low as 267 m (875 feet) above sea level into the water treatment facilities and further on to provide water to the city of Las Vegas and neighbor community area.

Grundfos: Focus on water at the UN

Sustainable development is a key part of the agenda at the UN General Assembly in New York.

Grundfos takes part in the discussions and the actions. “Our emphasis is on making water and sanitation available for all.”

Some of the world’s most important leaders, including several heads of states, presidents of international organizations, and CEOs from international companies have gathered at the UN General Assembly (UNGA) held in New York. One of the main themes of the event is ‘Focusing on People: Striving for Peace and a Decent Life for All on a Sustainable Planet’, which was also a key topic at the opening debate.

Andritz: Irrigation pumps to India

Andritz has received an order from Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd. (MEIL), Hyderabad, India, to equip three pumping stations with a total of 27 vertical volute pumps near the village of Kaleshwaram in the Indian state of Telangana. The order value is more than 60 million euros. Start-up is scheduled for June 2018.

One pumping station conveys 660 m³ of water per second from the Pranahita River and then through other pumping stations into a reservoir. This reservoir will ensure a sustainable supply of water for agricultural irrigation.

Grundfos: Significant sales and earnings growth in first half of 2017

Net turnover reaches DKK 12.2 billion compared to DKK 11.6 billion in first half of 2016, which represents an increase of 5.8 percent (5.5 % in local currencies). Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) increase by 26.9 percent compared to first half of 2016, from DKK 824 million to DKK 1,046 million.

“We continue disciplined execution of our 2020 Strategy. I am particularly pleased to see that our increased focus on growth pays off, and that we gain global market share, while continuing to improve earnings,” says Mads Nipper, Group President and CEO.
