Twin screw pumps for food applications

Wednesday, March 21st, 2018 von admin

Hyghspin twin screw pumps have a compact design and many versatile and flexible uses. The design of these pumps do follow hygienic design criteria. Their block construction saves space and always ensures a correctly aligned coupling.

Mobile units including frequency converter and service switch are another feature of this pump range. These units stand out, among other things, on account of their self-priming qualities and ease of service. Safe-to-run dry seals, for example, require no flushing.

Peristaltic pumps now available with hygienic hoses

Monday, March 19th, 2018 von admin

The Mouvex Abaque Series peristaltic pumps are now available with FDA and EC 1935/2004 certified hoses. By incorporating these hygienic hoses, these pumps are now suited for the production of food and beverage products that require strict hygienic standards.

The design of Abaque pumps also eliminates product contamination since the pumped product is kept completely in the hose and is not exposed to the moving parts of the pump. Additionally, the smooth operation of these pumps allows them to handle the shear-sensitive products with delicate particles.

Pumping sparkling wine without foaming

Friday, March 16th, 2018 von admin

CO2 increases the tendency of the beverage to foam, which impairs the quality of the goods. An Italian winery has therefore been using a particularly low-pulsation, hygienically safe rotary lobe pump of German manufacturer Netzsch.

This T.Sano pump guarantees not only the desired pressure over the entire pumping distance – and thus the quality of the wine – but also reliably prevents the un-wanted development of foam. In this way, more precise dosing and better barrel emptying is achieved.

KSB puts pumps into the Internet of Things

Thursday, March 15th, 2018 von admin

At this year’s Achema, KSB is presenting a new pump monitoring system called KSB Guard. Networked vibration and temperature sensors fitted directly to the pump make availability at plant level transparent. The system ensures that changes in the operating behaviour of the machine are detected at an early stage, and maintenance work can be better planned, without having to be on site with the pump. Unlike previous systems, KSB Guard is ideally suited for retrofitting. The sensor unit is attached to the bearing bracket or the drive lantern of the pump using a magnet and adhesive, and can be mounted during operation, with no need for changes to the machine. A battery unit, which is also supplied, provides self-sufficient power supply.
