KSB: New service centre in Abu Dhabi

Thursday, March 24th, 2016 von admin

KSB_Servicestuetzpunk_Abu_DhabiThe KSB Group officially opened a new service centre in Abu Dhabi. The new workshop has a size of around 3,000 square metres and accommodates five cranes capable of lifting weights of up to 40 tonnes. State-of-the-art machine tools are available for machining components and there is also an office space comprising about 600 square metres.

KSB Service LLC currently employs 54 staff who repair KSB products as well as non-KSB brands. In addition, customers are offered a large variety of spare parts and services, with special emphasis being on the SES System Efficiency Service. This is a service offering developed by KSB that has been very successful in Germany for some time now. It is used to establish the energy consumption of large, powerful pumps and optimise it in line with current operating conditions. KSB Service LLC’s other focus of activities is on reverse engineering and on providing technical training for customers and employees alike. The company is a joint venture of KSB Aktiengesellschaft and the Al Masaood Group.

Rick Foster Receives Standards Award from Hydraulic Institute

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2016 von admin

Blackmer_HI-Award_Rick-FosterRick Foster, Director of Engineering at Blackmer, was recently presented with a Standards Award from the Hydraulic Institute (HI). Foster received the award in recognition and appreciation of his outstanding contributions to the development of ANSI/HI Pump Standards and guidelines published in 2015.

“Without the efforts of dedicated volunteers like Rick and the support of our member companies and partners, we would not be able to publish these important industry references,” said Michael Michaud, Executive Director of HI. “We value Rick’s contributions to the Institute and this is a well-deserved award.”

Sulzer: New efficient submersible recirculation pump

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2016 von admin

XRCP_800PA_FullThe new pump series is developed for the pumping and recirculation of activated sludge in wastewater treatment plants during the nitrification and denitrification process, as well as for the pumping of storm, surface, and river water. It complements the submersible recirculation pump series ABS RCP. These submersible pumps are optimized in low energy consumption to bring savings in total life-cycle costs and reduce the environmental footprint.

KSB: New impeller combines reliability and efficiency

Monday, March 14th, 2016 von admin

KSB_DFmax-Laufrad_01The newly developed free-flow impeller for waste water pumps will be the trade fair highlight showcased by KSB at this year’s Ifat in Munich. The F-max impeller now incorporates different distances between its blades, which are arranged in groups with two small and two large distances. Thanks to this asymmetrical blade arrangement, the F-max offers impressively wide free passages ensuring that even larger rigid solids pass easily and are reliably handled by the pump.

A further focus for KSB’s engineers when designing the blades was their ability to create a swirl in the hub area. This swirling effect shifts fibres away from the impeller hub and transports them to the outside.

Siemens: Motors for high thrust pump applications in harsh environments

Expanding its extensive range of Simotics low-voltage Nema motors, Siemens adds in-line, vertical solid shaft (VSS) motors to its portfolio – the LP100 series – in the Nema Premium efficiency class.

Expanding its extensive range of Simotics low-voltage Nema motors, Siemens adds in-line, vertical solid shaft (VSS) motors to its portfolio – the LP100 series – in the Nema Premium efficiency class. They have been specifically designed to address hight thrust pump applications and now have an extra high thrust capability allowing them to be teamed up with many pump types. The motors comply with the new Nema Premium efficiency class, the highest efficiency class required today for Nema low-voltage induction motors in the US. A range of special options is available for the series so that these motors comply with or exceed the most stringent industrial standards and can be used to address a wide range of applications.
