KEPL commissioned its first API Turbine in Indonesia

Wednesday, October 28th, 2015 von admin

K-TUR imagePune-headquartered Kirloskar Ebara Pumps Ltd (KEPL), a joint venture of Kirloskar Brothers Ltd (KBL), has successfully commissioned its indigenously-developed first API 611 Steam Turbine ‘K-TUR’ at PT. Pemukasakti Manishindah, Indonesia. KEPL designed and developed API 611 compliant steam turbine up to a power rating of 3000 kW for the global API industry. This first “K-TUR” was supplied through ISGEC Heavy Engineering Limited, India with a rating of 380 Kw. This turbine is capable of variable speed / power operation from 30 % to 110 % of the boiler load and has been designed in a way that it has the best operational efficiencies over its designed life of 20 years. In addition to No Load Mechanical Run Testing (NLMRT) as per API 611. KEPL also tested the turbine on part load for the first time using a calibrated pump to evaluate its operational performance vis-a-vis the designed performance.

Mechanical Solutions Inc. (MSI), headquartered in Whippany, New Jersey, specializes in fluid machinery design, fluid dynamic analysis, mechanical design and analysis. In the energy industry, MSI focuses on analysis, testing and troubleshooting of all kinds of rotating, reciprocating and turbomachinery, using sophisticated analysis and testing tools. These specialists are using Star-CCM, an industry-leading simulation package to tackle design challenges in water pumps.

Major design challenges of water pumps include the unsteadiness of the flow, cavitation and rotating machinery. Star-CCM offers features that can successfully tackle these difficult physics while offering a streamlined, robust numerical design process. Geometry generation, meshing, solving, post-processing and optimization can all be done in an efficient workflow.

Features like the unsteady flow solver, unsteady cavitation model, Rigid Body Motion (RBM) for rotating domains, automated unstructured meshing for complex geometry and parallel processing capability offer the ability to explore multiple water pump designs in an economical manner. The system allows designers to easily predict pump performance at design and off-design points and avoid damaging effects of cavitation and erosion.

Prominent: Solenoid diaphragm metering pump

Thursday, October 15th, 2015 von admin

gamma_ X_20x18_11866ProMinent is setting new standards in accuracy and reliability with the new solenoid driven diaphragm metering pump gamma/ X: The first metering pump in its class to be driven by a cleverly controlled solenoid and independently ensures a smooth metering process at any time. Unlike conventional technologies, the gamma/ X does not need interference-resistant components to measure pressure or detect hydraulic faults.
ProMinent presents its new metering pump at Aquatech Amsterdam 2015 on stand 7.450 in hall 7 between 03-06 November 2015.

The new solenoid driven metering pump is suitable for metering between 1 ml/h and 45 l/h at a back pressure of 25 bar to 2 bar. The stroke length can be electronically set at between 0 and 100%.

CP: New magnetic drive centrifugal pump up to 750 m³/h

Tuesday, October 13th, 2015 von admin

cpThe Swiss pump manufacturer CP Pumpen AG has put a new pump size on the market. The new magnetic drive pump, MKP 250-200-315, enhances the MKP series. These pumps are – according a company’s information – “considered high-performance, energy-efficient, sturdy and very safe – regardless of which medium is pumped. CP’s development team was able to implement all of these product properties in the new MKP 250-200-315.”

“The demand for pumps with a large flow volume had increased in the past. With a volume of up to 750 m3/h, the new MKP is complementing our series with a size that is important for the market”, says Heinz Mathys, Marketing & Sales Director and member of the CP Management Team.
