By September 2012, KSB will supply boiler feed pumps for the newly built units A and B of the Dutch coal-fired power station at Eemshaven. On the Ems estuary, some 30 kilometres to the north-west of Emden, a German energy supply utility is building an ultra-modern power plant consisting of several 800 MW units which will generate electricity for the Dutch market. The order with a value of several million euros is for two units, each consisting of a turbine-driven main boiler feed pump, a geared booster pump, a minimum flow system and sound insulating hoods.
A hermetically sealed twin- screw pump expands the comprehensive product program from Bornemann. This is a pump with contactless rotating elements and media-lubricated bearings, which can also be used with media that are low-lubricating. The pump is hermetically sealed by a magnetic coupling. As such, the advantages that speak in favour of using a “seal-free” pump can now be combined with the advantages of the proven Bornemann 2-spindle technology. A version is also optionally available with mechanical seal, for extreme application conditions.
New motor series enables a power output up to 670 kW. Hermetic supplied the world’s largest canned motor pumps with a power output of 670 kW. The multistage vertical pumps in Tandem design are equipped with the latest motor generation series NO90.

The market for drive controllers provides customers a wide range of products – some are standardised, others get adapted individually. The combination of a favourable large scale production with the advantages of customer specific adaption can be decisive for a purchase decision.
At this year’s ACHEMA, KSB will for the first time present immersion pumps type Movitec VCl. These vertical, multistage centrifugal pumps are used for handling
- condensate and
- lubricants for machine tools.
Potential fields of application include industrial recirculation systems, cooling water circuits, washing plants and pressure boosting in general process applications.
More and more seal-less canned motor pumps are being employed for the conveying of liquefied gases. They are distinguished by operational safety, an extremely low level of noise, low life cycle costs and in particular by the high degree of environmental friendliness, alongside their compactness and easy installation. They are a safe alternative to conventional centrifugal pumps and magnetic drive pumps.
Frost & Sullivan (F&S), one of the world’s leading market research institutes which has been carrying out studies on a wide variety of pump applications and markets for many years, has honored Netzsch Pumps & Systems with the 2011 Best Practice Award for increased customer benefit. Decisive factors for Frost & Sullivan were the constant focus on the development of innovative products and solutions tailored to the needs of customers.
